Create a short link
Paste a destination on the homepage, or save it from the dashboard so it stays on your account.
On the homepage, enter a long URL that starts with https:// and submit. ug.uy returns a slug on ug.uy and copies it when the browser allows clipboard access. Title, description, and image are optional preview fields under “Show preview options.”
A link created while you are signed out is anonymous. It expires 30 days after creation unless a different lifetime was sent to the API. Sign in and create the link from the dashboard if you want it on your account.
Signed-in links are created from Dashboard → Links. The destination is checked for unsafe URLs. When Google Web Risk is configured, it must clear the destination for malware, social engineering, and unwanted software before the link is stored. When that check is not configured, creation continues.
- Free accounts can create 5 links per day.
- Pro can create 100 links per day.
- Developer has no daily create cap in the plan catalog, and a separate monthly API allowance.
- Stored link count is not capped on current plans. The daily create counter is the limit that stops you.
